Stream read error in Certificate Module fixed

August 13, 2009 Leave a comment

After a frustrating search we were finally able to isolate the source of the stream read error in the certificate generator.

As you might recall, this error occurred on the next opening of the module after a certificate was printed from the file menu and the module was closed after selecting “yes” from the save prompt. I had a very nasty side effect in that all data would be lost and you basically had to start over in creating certificates on that particular project.

In the end it turned out to be the freeware PDF printer that we had shipped in the Billcost software that was causing all the problems. We have loaded another PDF creator on the downloads section of the Billcost website for your convenience.

Download and install the PDF creator (1.6MB) from the Billcost Website. You may also choose to use whatever other PDF creating/printing product that you possess or prefer. We also reccomend that you open the “Add/Remove Programs” function from Control Panel and remove the current TinyPdf installation.

Once again, you should now be able to print trouble free from the certificate module start menu using the new PDF software.

The R&D team apologises for any inconvenience caused and once again assure you of our continued commitment to making your product run as smoothly and trouble free as is humanly possible.
